Years ago, when I first started using Fastmail for my email provider, I had set up Roundcube to access the account. At the time, I had used Postfix for the actual connection. Sometime between then and now, I had stopped using Roundcube and eventually, disabled it from my server.
Forward to present day. There have been a few times recently at work, that I need to access my personal email and doing it from my phone just doesn't cut it. Maybe I'm searching for a particular email or whatever. But, the fastmail domain is blocked at work so... It's time to set up Roundcube again.
After a few web searches, I was unable to get Roundcube set up properly with Fastmail. I could get it to receive emails just fine but, I just couldn't get it to send emails. Finally, I found the proper settings and it's now working nicely.
The IMAP and SMTP settings I ended up with are:
//IMAP $config['default_host'] = 'ssl://mail.messagingengine.com'; $config['defaul_port'] = 993; $config['imap_auth_type'] = null; //SMTP $config['smtp_server'] = 'ssl://mail.messagingengine.com'; $config['smtp_port'] = 465; $config['smtp_user'] = '%u'; $config['smtp_pass'] = '%p';
This is using Roundcube v1.1.2
I had a hard time finding these actual settings via my web searches so, this is one of those so I don't forget kind of posts. ;)
